Playing in Presents

This week’s activity focuses on scent work and confidence building, using a fun scent game using wrapped Amazon boxes. Treats or toys will be hidden inside or around them, and dogs will use their noses to locate the hidden surprises, encouraging problem-solving and focus while having festive fun.

WEEK OF DEC 9

Holiday Party + Desensitizing to Christmas Lawn Ornaments

We’ll kick off the week with our Holiday Party on Monday Dec. 9th with a festive holiday photo session! The week will also focus on building comfort around festive decorations. We’ll introduce dogs to common holiday lawn decorations, gradually being exposed to these items with treats and positive reinforcement to build confidence and reduce any fear or overexcitement.

WEEK OF DEC 16

“Uh-Uh” (Leave It) Work

This week we’ll be teaching self-control and using “uh-uh!” verbal command for items that might drop on the floor during the holidays, such as ornament hooks, cooking ingredients, or small decorations. Handlers will work on teaching dogs to ignore these distractions, using positive reinforcement to strengthen impulse control.

WEEK OF DEC 23

No Jumping on Guests (No daycare Dec 24 & 25)

Dogs will be rewarded with treats and praise for keeping “four on the floor.” Handlers will use calm greetings and redirecting excited dogs to sit or settle behaviors.

WEEK OF DEC 30

Bubble Party! (No daycare Jan 1)

It’s time to get ready to paw-ty and welcome the New Year with tails wagging! This week, the pups will have fun popping all the bubbles at our indoor bubble party. This activity encourages physical exercise, sharpens their focus, and brings out their natural playfulness—all in a fun, interactive environment. Let’s make their New Year start with a pop!
